Bed Side Table Drawer Organization

Is your Bedside Table drawer all a mess?! So were ours! This is an older project so I apologize again for not having a “before” picture. Part of organizing is keeping like items together where you need and use those items the most. But most of us use our night table for a bunch of different items. Medicines, glasses, momentos, loose change, chargers, remotes, gun, knives, books/book lights… and everything else you would like to not have to get out of bed for.

This is project if for my fiance’s night table. I did this project on the super cheap. Using dividers and other containers that I already had in the house and purchased only one additional item from the dollar store.

First thing you need to do is purge all the junks that you have accumulated throughout the years. Little scraps of papers and notes to yourself. Keep only those that are most important to you. Love notes from your significant other, letters from your mother or father, sketches from a sibling or childhood friend that you can’t let go, small trinkets. Only keep those that you love. Designate yourself a small box that fits in the drawer and stay within that box. If it doesn’t fix, it does not belong in your night table. I subscribe to Birchbox and have a TON of left over boxes, so we took one of these for this drawer.

We used a paper clip bin from the Dollar Store for his loose change and spare AC adapters for his chargers. Once you have all your trash out, find a small container with a top to use for your little garbage pieces. I used this mini cookie snack container. It has a good closure and I don’t worry about it tipping over and spilling out. DO NOT use this for half eaten food or candy or chewed gun. We use this for little pill blister packets or medicine wrapper paper from tums or cough drops. When you are sick you definitely don’t want to get up to clean up. So keeping everything organized will make getting better SO MUCH BETTER! Less you have to clean later and you know where everything is so you are not getting up and down and just focusing on getting better.

The last thing I used was a tray from another organizing set that did not fit into the drawer I originally intended it for but it fit perfectly for the purpose I needed!

So from what you can see in this picture, we were able to get the momento box, change bowl, back massager roller, foot cream, and cold medicine all right therein the back. With the tray divider, we have his allergy and cold pills, gun and back up magazine, and a little tupperware that holds tums, cough drops, chap stick and hand sanitizer to keep it confined and not rolling around and his little garbage can on the side. Everything can be seen and this system is easy to maintain. I believe we have had this in place for about 4 months now and looks the same as the day we put it in place. The great part about it, we have a little bit of extra space for anything else that may need to be added down the road.
